Group Project

Our group researched for a couple of days on different topic and finally found one. We decided on Racism in the 1960s. As a group we picked this topic because we felt that their was so much information we could find on racism and 1960 was definitely the right decade. Their was so much going on in just these 10 years (1960-1969), from Civil Right Movements to the death of Civil Rights Leader Martin Luther King, their was so much information we couldn't leave out and couldn't have pick a better decade.

My group also did racism in the 1960s. We chose this topic primarily knowing the prominence of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in the 1960s as well as the majority agreement that racism was in fact wrong. We knew that, because of Dr. king's influence we would be able to find multiple literature and speech sources. While working on the project we did find it somewhat difficult to find racist advertisements and television shows, or even ads or shows that displayed both blacks and whites equally. So we convened to simply state that, even though racism was dwindling, its effects since the institution of slavery, would have an affect throughout this posterity (then, 1960). We did find a budweiser ad that was a bit racist. You can check out the comparison on our wiki page.

White people owe us a lot we as blacks. Yet they still emphasize financial debts while they ignore what they did to our people in America.
